Redis persistence can use snapshots (RDB), an append-only file (AOF), or both. RDB is compact and fast to load; AOF records write operations and can reduce data loss depending on its fsync policy. Persistence does not automatically make a deployment highly available.
Replication creates copies for reads and failover. Redis Sentinel monitors primary/replica deployments, while Redis Cluster shards data across nodes. Select the topology based on data size, availability targets, and operational complexity.
