What an org is
An org is your company's own copy of Salesforce: its data, settings, users and code. You build in a sandbox (a safe copy) and release to production.
Objects and fields
An object is like a table (Account, Contact, Opportunity). A field is a column. Custom objects end in __c, for example Course__c.
- Lookup relationship: loose link, child can exist alone.
- Master-detail: child is owned by the parent and is deleted with it.
- Formula fields calculate a value and are read-only.
