Solana transactions pay a base signature fee (5,000 lamports per signature) plus an optional Priority Fee specified in micro-lamports per compute unit. Because Solana locks accounts per-transaction, fee markets are localized: high demand for one account (e.g. popular NFT mint) does not spike transaction costs across unrelated accounts.
